3D of one jaw CBCT of one jaw
150 BGNCone Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT) also known as 3D examination of the jaws and teeth is the latest advancement in radiographic technology.
With the use of the CBCT, images of the teeth and jaws are obtained in the form of sections in all planes and at a high resolution of up to 0.075 mm. The examination data can be reconstructed into three-dimensional images.
The method is widely used in implantology for visualization and measurement of the bone in the decalcified area, in cases prior to placement of a dental implant(s), and can also be used to fabricate surgical guides.
The information from the examination is used to analyze a variety of pathological conditions affecting the teeth and jaws.
CBCT is of limited informativeness in terms of diagnosing changes in soft tissues - salivary glands, lymph nodes, muscles, etc.
The dose of CBCT is up to several times lower than that of our familiar CT scans used for medical purposes.
